What is the first country you think about when you hear about South America? Many of us think about countries such as Brazil or Argentina, which are two largest countries on the South American continent. If you live in North America, traveling to South America should not be a problem for you as getting there should take you no longer than a few hours. South America is an unexplored continent with many great travel destinations such as Suriname. I would like to give you a few facts about this small South American country. These facts can help you plan your next trip to South America. If you have never been to South America before, they might help you make up your mind which part of this big continent you should choose as your travel destination.
-Only around five hundred thousand people live in Suriname. The number can be compared to the number of people living in some North American cities.
-The country shares borders with some other countries such as Brazil, French Guiana, and Guyana. Getting to Brazil from Suriname is very easy and it should not take you longer than a few hours, depending where in Suriname you are.
-The official language in Suriname is Dutch. This is due to the fact that the Dutch colonized this part of the world many centuries ago.
-The economy of Suriname is based on agriculture, but also on tourism.
-Each year, many tourists from many different countries visit Suriname, mostly to experience the beautiful wildlife and unspoiled nature, especially the Amazonian forests located in the south of the country.
-The country takes pride in excellent cuisine many people enjoy, including tourists.
-The country has warm climate, which makes it a great destination.
Roman Empire was a huge empire that governed most Europe, North Africa and some parts of the Middle East from 27 BC to 476 BC. If you look at the map of the area in which the Roman Empire used to spread, you will see how great it was. If you would like to visit countries that used to be part of the Roman Empire, your trip is going to be very long. Some of the countries that used to be part of Roman Empire include modern France, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Greece, England, Israel or even Egypt. I would like to give you a few reasons visiting the countries where Roman Empire used to spread is such a good idea.
-Roman Empire used to be one of the largest empires in human history.
-Roman Empire will tell you many things about who you are. The language of Roman Empire give birth to such languages as French, Italian, Spanish, German or English. By learning the history of Roman Empire, you have a chance to learn something about the history and culture of one of the most popular languages in the world.
Florida as a whole is a very attractive destination for anyone who likes hot weather. Nonetheless, there are some areas in Florida that might be more attractive for tourists. I am going to list a few destinations that most people will enjoy visiting:
-South Beach Miami is often considered as one of the best beaches in the world. Anyone who enjoys sun and sand is going to appreciate being on this beach. The hot climate makes it especially attractive, as it is warm almost the whole year. No wonder that South Beach is a is a very popular travel destination.
-Fort Lauderdale is another place to visit that has great beaches. It also has many places where you can shop and many restaurants. It is considerably less crowded than Miami so that might appeal to some people.
-Fort Myers Beach is on the eastern side of the state. You will find there gorgeous beaches, abundant nightlife, and many places to shop. It is also a place for golfing, so if that is your thing you will surely enjoy visiting Fort Myers.
South Florida is a great place to visit and I hope that the guide above will help you choose a destination that you will enjoy visiting.
Some of us love winters, while some of us prefer summers. If you live in cold climate, winters might be difficult for you to bear. You might not really think about it that way, but going on vacation in winter might be a good idea. If you do not mind spending Christmas somewhere else than your home, you will enjoy a wide variety of destinations offering Christmas vacation packages. Going on vacation in winter does not have to be limited to Christmas only. Any other time during winter is perfect for traveling and here is why:
-The prices of many vacation packages out of season tend to be a lot cheaper than they are in season. You can pay even up to two times less than you would normally have to pay in a hotel of your choice.
-You will meet a lot less tourists traveling to your destination. Places you want to visit will not be as crowded as they are in the summer.
-If you do not like hot temperatures, traveling to such destination as Mexico or South Europe in winter is a good idea. Colder temperatures allow tourists to see landmarks in a completely new way, without getting tired from the sun.
You might have heard that each year UNESCO publishes a list of endangered places around the world. Since more and more tourists flock to some worldwide destinations, sooner or later those destinations will cease to offer what they used to offer. Here are some endangered destinations you might wish to visit before they disappear:
-Tibet. Known as a quite place where many monks reside, this part of China sees an explosion of fast development. A luxury railway between mainland China and Tibet is expected to endanger this region.
-Galapagos Islands. They are threatened by tourism that can harm many marine species such as sea lions, iguanas, tortoises, and many more. Around 120,000 visitors come to Galapagos Islands each year. They usually bring germs and insects with them that are dangerous to existing species.
-Some places in Florida, such as Everglades National Park. Since more and more people decide to relocate to Florida, its many acres of wilderness disappear very fast.
The list of endangered destinations is a lot longer that I presented in this post. For technical reasons, it would be difficult for me to mention all of them here.
